Discover Lima at one of our Hotels
The Peruvian capital offers fascinating contrasts: on one hand, pre-Columbian archaeological discoveries and traditional sites; and on the other hand, modernized neighborhoods and places.
If you are a history enthusiast, Huaca Pucllana will pleasantly surprise you. It is a pre-Columbian archaeological site from around 1600 AD located in Miraflores. It was a religious and administrative center used by various civilizations throughout history. You can also visit the Amano Museum, very close to Huaca Pucllana, which houses a highly important collection of pre-Columbian textiles.
Other notable places to visit in Lima include Plaza Mayor, or Plaza de Armas, which is the heart of the city; the Central Market, where you can find clothes, school supplies, food, etc.; and the Museum of Art of Lima (MALI), which showcases approximately 3000 years of the country's history.
